About
Tomlin Counseling
& Consulting
I am licensed in Tennessee with 7 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with a variety of mental health issues, including; stress and anxiety, coping with grief and loss, lack of motivation, low self-esteem, lack of meaning and purpose & depression. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
A safe, non-judgmental space
As a mental health therapist, my overarching goal is to help you to feel fully seen, heard, and accepted exactly as you are. I will create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share your story: your insecurities, fears, anxiety, grief, concerns about the future, and your experiences from your past.
Client-Centered Therapy
I am a client-centered therapist who values the therapeutic relationship above all else. I work from a constructivist perspective, acknowledging that all of our former life experiences have created the person we are today. I see all of my clients as very unique individuals with their own special strengths, talents, and gifts, and I will help you to fully recognize and develop these gifts so that you can be the best version of yourself - the person you were born to be.
My specialties include self-esteem issues, stress, and anxiety, lack of motivation, depression, grief and loss, body image issues, trauma, adjustment issues, and finding purpose and meaning. I use a variety of treatment modalities including traditional therapeutic techniques, e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, narrative therapy, positive psychology, psychoeducation, and solution-focused therapy.
